LETTER TO THE FUTURE
Dear
Human,
You have undoubtedly come so far since this letter was written.
It brings your ancestors great pleasure knowing that our sacrifice led to a mass
awakening and you have inherited this Earth better than it was when we left it.
The transition did not come easy.
In matter of fact, we had to discover deeper
layers of darkness in our collective consciousness in order for this to happen.
It's difficult to admit this, just as I'm sure that it's difficult for
you to understand how we could possibly have acted the way we did.
We
did things to each other. Terrible things.
Before my generation,
war shaped countries to become what they are.
Billions of people
experienced slavery, torture, murder, rape, and death.
We judged each other. We
hated each other. We were afraid of what was different, because we did not realize
that we are the same.
And just like a cancer, our ignorance spread.
We worshiped
money and power thinking that it would bring us salvation and joy.
We believed
mythical stories and built our entire lives over these belief systems which were
passed down to us.
We idolized false prophets, believed in predictions, and took
each others lives over these brain-washing principles.
We responded to fear stronger
than love, even though we knew that Love would eventually emerge as the dominant
force of all things.
It was hard for us to see.
We willingly inhaled
cancer through cigarettes, swallowed chemicals through our food, and slaughtered
billions of animals each day for our consumption. We polluted our atmosphere, our
oceans, and destroyed our own bodies.
We created the genocide of our souls and
sold out our morals for temporary moments of gratification.
We did not really need
most of the things that we sought, yet we were willing to rape this planet and
risk our children's future just for our over-consumption. But do not blame us for
our ignorance, because we simply did not know better.
I know you
look back at the way that we lived and have various emotions.
Perhaps you are in
disbelief at how we could treat each other the way we did.
Perhaps you can't believe
how we possibly lived with such primitive technology compared to yours.
Just know
that the same will happen to your future generations as well. And let us hope it
does!
Let us hope that our grandchildren can always look back at their grandparents
lifestyle in disbelief.
Let us hope that human beings expand for the better and
are constantly improving in their morals, ethics, and the knowledge of our existence.
Although the history of our species may seem brutal, just know that it
was all necessary for us to reach the level of advanced intelligence that we have.
Every thing serves its purpose. The darkness was placed in our time-line in order
to teach us how to emerge into the light.
We came very close to ruining it all.
We came very close to reaching the point of no return.
The Earth almost collapsed
under the pressure that we created, but we are so proud that you have turned it
all around.
Your air is purer than the air we breathed. Your water is cleaner.
Your resources are renewable.
Your cultural understanding is more mature. Your
respect for life is admirable. Your organization and unity is inspiring.
We want to Thank You for moving in the direction that you have moved.
We want to apologize for our wrong-doings and hope you understand that we truly
tried our best with the limited knowledge that we had.
Our history was manipulated.
We were taught to memorize useless facts rather than learn about who we are.
We
were marketed to and turned into zombies.
We thought we over-came slavery, but
we just masked it with a monetary system that over-provided for a few, and under-provided
for the majority.
We failed as a species, but deep down, we always knew that our
children will learn from our mistakes and create a better world.
Undoubtedly, they
have. We take a look at you and all that you have built and marvel at the genius
of the human will.
As our generation perished off of this Earth,
our old ideologies and flawed belief systems have perished with us. But they gave
birth to yours.
They inspired you to make things better, and you rose to the challenge.
You saw a World that was being destroyed and you fixed it. You saw a Species that
was facing mass-extinction and you saved it.
From cavemen to
high-tech life, the same spiritual principles have remained the same.
The emotions
that a caveman felt when creating fire is the same emotions that you feel when
discovering a new technology.
The emotions felt when a homeless person found food
and shelter for the night, is the same emotions you feel when something great happens
in your life.
This is what connects us. Emotions! This is the invisible thread
that ties our generations together.
And yes, our environment can change, but our
Spirits remain eternal.
The movies of our lives may look different, but the Director
will always be the same. Universal Truth will always emerge.
Always respect
your past, but know that you are not bound by it.
Know that you too will someday
be looked back at as primitive and barbaric, but all these material things that
define us are just reflections of something much greater. Yet, this is our human
condition. We constantly seek to better ourselves and expand. It is great to finally
see that we no longer need to destroy each other in order to do so. We have learned
that we are stronger together than we are divided.
You have
done well Human.
Thank you for accepting our apologizes and creating a World where
happiness, peace, respect, sustainability, and mental, physical, and spiritual
advancements over-ride power, greed, destruction, and ego.
You
have inherited this Planet and you have nurtured it back to Life.
You
have taken our beautiful species, and you have saved us from ourselves.
We
Thank You and honor your strength, resilience, and the beauty of our species.

THE PATH by Apollo Poetry
I have been lost on this path before.
I have been found on this path before.
Before there was a path, there was a past, and after that's the
aftermath. I only laugh, because I have walked down this path before...
We don't find what we don't seek.
We don't hear what you don't speak.
We are strong because we're weak.
We have walked this path before.
There is only one reason we feel alive.
And that's because we know we'll die.
Formlessness brought to life.
I have walked this path before.
The maze within my mind is a place that I will find something ancient and divine.
Stars are made just to shine.
A player at his prime in a game that isn't timed, but we play into the night...
because we have walked this path before.
But now I choose..
I choose to paint memories on the blank walls of my consciousness.
And play intellectual hop scotch with my emotional opposites.
Share thoughts without being attached.
Cave walls that are being attacked.
Paintballs creating art on your back.
With napalm in the heart of Iraq.
World wars to Girls' hearts. And Mother Earth gives another birth.
While Father Sky, left us to cry. but we have walked this path before.
We're born. We die. We tour the skies.
This form is light and your soul cannot lie.
You are not just your mind. You are what your mind finds.
And if your mind finds lines, you are bounded by time.
And all that humans fought about who is God, and who is not,
is just a useless thought, the second the music starts.
African Drums. Middle Eastern Chants.
American Poets- Indian Dance.
Music notes don't have religions. We have walked this path before.
Imagine the lines between your poems had immigration policies.
Your words would never melt your periods into apostrophes.
If you could see what an artists sees, the paintbrush makes the heartless bleed.
I know that my thoughts are the seeds, and my brain is screaming "Water me!"
We're playing a cosmic lottery, with every breath of coffee beans.
And pencil lead that lead our heads to write down what we wish we said.
Become what you want, but want what you are.
Denial to a liar is like fire to a lighter.
I go lower to get higher, I have walked this path before.
I've already made mistakes.
Do death row prisoners attempt to escape?
Or just fantasize about their final steak?
What's at stake, but the length of the wait.
The walls of love shatter by the strength of your hate.
So let's separate the image from the person.
We are the children of history's visions, but it's the present that we are serving.
I got a letter from my pencil, and this is what it's always been wanting to say but was too afraid to write into history.
I am nothing but a tool for you to use.
So then why is it that I feel that my hand is the slave?
Inject my veins, it is art that I crave.
I'm addicted to your pain.
I have walked this path before.
Have you figured out what the meaning of life is?
Without darkness, you won't know what light is.
Does your shadow have an identity crisis?
As it walks right off the floor.
My mind is the gun and my emotions are the bullets.
My thoughts are the trigger, so I'm quicker just to pull it
Or is it the opposite? Should I follow what a prophet said?
Or is it a human translation of what the prophet meant?
So instead, I close my eyes and ask God to speak to me
A poet rejecting words who wants to feel love eternally.
Some things can't be expressed verbally, our broken faces show it.
And those are the things that feel like straight jackets to a poet.
It's easy to pick the pen up. It's harder to put the pen down.
I will walk this path again, without my feet on the ground.
In the silence, there is a sound. In the sound, there is a door.
In the door there is path, and I have walked it once before.

The Sun's Love
If we can only love each other, the same way that the sun loves the earth.
Always shining light and never asking for anything in return.
If we can only respect each other, and learn to build, and not destroy.
Every girl and boy, could play while feeling joy.
If we can create a future, and shape our destiny.
If you combine you and me, you're left with a We.
And it is up to us, to pass the torch along.
You are all leaders because your soul is strong.
I play poker with tarot cards trying to figure out if this is my destiny or if my reflection is bluffing.
If you have a staring contest with a mirror, there will always be a tie ending.
Trying to figure out if you are who you think you are, or just a reflection looking back.
So when you see the mirror, do you see yourself?
Or do you see what others see underneath your flesh?
Do you feel what others see is real?
Or do you deal with how you feel by seeing something else?
They say the truth can set you free.
But if one man’s truth is another man’s lie, that means that love must be the key.
Speak to me! And let the poetry start raining.
Love is all that there is and the rest of life is just a painting.
Which means, this body is just a costume for the soul.
Regardless of race or your religion, we are all part of the same whole.
If we can only love each other, the same way that the sun loves the earth.
So do generations of the past exist in one continuous moment?
Will our tears ever become antiques? Our bones become dust?
Can memories solidify? Can the invisible become tangible?
Do birds sing sad songs about broken wings?
Are we too afraid to live in the gray because it reminds us of our own shadows?
You see, The beginning of this poem doesn’t exist anymore. Let it go.
The end of this poem hasn’t been birthed yet. Release expectations.
They are just invisible thoughts that pull you back and forth.
Analyzing your past and fearing your future.
Right now is all that there is and is all there ever was.
You see the birds are not just birds.
They are the opera singers of nature’s translations.
And the trees are not just trees.
They are God’s fingertips reminiscing of yoga births.
The dirt is not just dirt.
They are the left over ashes of numerous clay sculptures, which survived human emotions.
The leaves are not just leaves.
They are paintbrush fill-ins of beauty going the extra mile.
And the air isn’t just air.
It is the sigh of relief that regardless if things are getting better or worse, at least they’re getting somewhere…
Change is all that nature understands.
As the river of life cleanses the potential of our dreams....
Do trees ever envy the birds that land on them for flying?
Do lakes ever get lonely and have dreams of turning into rivers?
Would flies appreciate the sunset if they knew they were only going to see it once?
Would you appreciate this day, if you knew you were only going to live it once?
Through the trials and tribulations, I gave my inner child birth.
If we can only love each other, the same way that the sun loves the earth.
